In 1981, before Keel + Curley Winery was in operation, Joel Keel began Keel Farms, a 10-acre farm in Plant City. Over time, the farm made a name for itself partially due to one special fruit; blueberries. That same fruit was the inspiration behind the first batch of wine produced at Keel + Curley Winery, the sweet blueberry wine.

The success of this initial sweet wine gave rise to several other types of blueberry wine; the semi-dry blueberry wine and the blueberry rosé, each as unique and flavorful as the last.
